In a addition to my iPhone / iPad apps I have started a new line of checklist apps designed for the Kindle. The 1st of these is called Simply Pack. This Checklist application is intended as an aid in packing for a trip. It is simple to operate and comes pre populated with many packing categories and items.

Below is a three step process that illustrates how to build your first Trip Packing Checklist and also explains basic operations / keys:

STEP 1:

- The first time the program is used it will display a getting started screen to explain some basic information.

- Next the Main Menu screen will appear as shown to the right with varios option buttons.

• Use 5-Way Up/Down keys to position on a button. Use 5-Way Selection to push the button.

- Now just push 'Select Items For My Trip'and the Master list will be displayed. 

- Note:

• 'Basic Instructions' and 'About' buttons provide additional Help / Info. The other buttons will be explained later.
• 'Home' key will exit app at any point in the program. You will get a 'Resume' button when the app is run again that will take you back to where you left the app.

STEP 2:

- The Master list Category Guide will now appear as indicated on the right.

-Now use the 5-Way Up/Down to position on the category you wish to select items from to take on your trip.

- As before use the 5-Way Select to pick the Category.

- Now the picked Category will appear as indicated to the right.

- Use 5-Way to position arrows on item you want to take on the trip & push the 5-Way Select. This will now show up as a solid black box in the Select column.

- Repeat for additional items.

- Use the 5-Way Right to bring up a Quantity pop up selector (also illustrated on right). Again use 5-Way to move to the quantity you want and then press 5-Way Select.

Other Keys:

• 'Page Forward/Backward' will move to display other Categories or if Category has more then one page, display next page (ie 2 of 2).
• 'Back': Returns to the Category Page. If on the Category page then 'Back' returns to the Main Menu.

STEP 3:

- From the Main Menu now pick 'My Trip'. This will now display the Categories of items you selected, as illustrated on the right.

- Again pick a category and it will display only the items you selected to take on your trip

- Now as you pack push the 5-Way Select to indicate item was packed. Notice the check marks as illustrated on the right.

- Once complete use Page Forward/Backward keys or the Back key to get the Category listing.

- From the Category page push Back to return to Main Menu ..... PACKED & READY TO GO !!!
