How To Build Checklists On Your PC/Mac

> Checklists that are Imported or Exported are given a .txt file format. This was done to make changing or adding new checklists easier. On the right is a typical formatted checklist.

 

> By using a simple text editor you can add, delete, or change checklists that you exported..... Or build your own checklist from scratch to Import.

 

> Once the checklist is ready follow the Import procedures discussed in web page Sharing Checklists.

LINE 1 : The ID ..... IMPORTANT STEP!!

- This is the unique ID generated by my apps. It represents a unique identifier for the device and the specific app. It is generated when Exporting a checklist from an app.

- If you are creating your own checklist or have modified a checklist put in the ID line BUT put a alpha/numeric code you make up. Just use a few characters

LINE 2 : The Type of File

- Denotes the type of checklist.

- This will place which category on the Selection screen the imported checklist will be placed.

- Only the following types are allowed:

Master ..... goes in the 1st category on the Checklist Selection screen

Trip ..... goes in the 2nd category on the Checklist Selection screen

Personal .... goes in the 3rd category on the Checklist Selection screen

LINE 3 : App Version Number

- Denotes the version in order for the app to properly process the imported checklist

- Use ... 1.6 as noted below.

LINE 4 : Blank Line

- Leave a blank line.

LINE 5 : Section Title

- The name entered will become the Section name.

LINE 6 : Item Names

- This line stores the item description plus other control information as detailed below:

 

A - This denotes if the item will be displayed with a check mark (0 = No Check , 1 = Checked)

B - Indicates the priority for the item (0 = No Priority, 1 = Red Priority, 2 = Yellow Priority)

C - Quantity of this item (Range from 00 to 99)

D - Weight of the item in LBS or KG (Select in app Settings) (Range from 000 to 999)

E - Weight of the item expressed as Ounces or Grams (Select in app Settings) (Range from 00000 to 99999

F - Description of item.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

-Make sure you use all digits of each field. As an example if the Quantity is a 2 then use 02

- Each field must be separated by a space.

LINE X : Blank Line

- Leave a blank line after the last detail item.

- After this line enter the next Section ..... then items

- Repeat the above process to enter all Sections and Items
